1. What inspired you to become an artist?
I don’t think there was any specific moment where I knew I wanted to be an artist. It just came about gradually. As a child I enjoyed drawing, building with Lego, just making things in general. I wasn’t particularly good at any of it, I just had a lot of fun doing it. I had that same mentality when I saw a university course on animation and design, I just figured it would good craic for a while. After some time doing that, I started to take the idea a bit more seriously. Other people get to be artists, why not me.
2. Please tell us about the artwork which, you are most proud of.
I’m not sure “proud” is the right word. Every time I look back on a piece, I tend to see the mistakes or ways it could be improved. Things I would do differently now. But there are a few bits of work which I’m content with. One of which being a piece titled “Us Against Them” - https://makersplace.com/brandonkangfilms/us-against-them-1-of-1-61550/ It had enough technical challenges to overcome to keep me satisfied but it is also my attempt to create a snapshot of how the world seems to me at the moment.
3. What main statement did you want to make with that artwork?
I would never claim to be an expert on the subject but even during a pandemic the wealth gap rose dramatically. At same time so many media outlets were constantly reporting on divides in society and how different we are from each other, politically, racially, by gender or beliefs. I wanted to show that those who hoard excessive wealth disregard us equally. Probably a fairly clumsy attempt at a metaphor but for me it made sense. And it was a lot of fun to make.
4. What else you wanna tell us about your art?
Art for me is problem solving. There is nothing more exciting than starting something that you don’t know how to do yet. Navigating a constant series of challenges and trying to come up with solutions. Every personal project I’ve undertaken has always begun with a thought of whether or not something is possible, and the idea then crystalizes around that.
5. How do you choose the topic for your next artwork?
Being an artist is not like a normal job, nothing is separate. Every book you’ve read or film you’ve seen, every hobby, the sum total of your life experience feeds into the art you create. Choosing the next subject for a project usually comes down to what excites me most. I imagine, like many artists, the difficulty comes not from a lack of ideas but having too many to pick from.
6. What do you recommend a new NFT artist to look out for?

7. How do you see the future of NFTs?
Honestly, I’m not really sure what anyone should look out for as far as NFTs are concerned. I’ve been lucky enough to sell some of my work even though I have a miniscule following on every one of the popular platforms. What I can say for certain is that I made the work that I wanted to make. I cared more while making it and I think the work reflects that. That would be my advice to anyone starting out.
"Respect to your statements Kevin, I like most the desire of learning something new and solve a problem. This is a abillity nt many people like to have." Pirates_of_art
